Substances
PMA

An empathogen with a slow onset and very strong serotonin release. This, combined with its lack of dopamine release, often leads users to dose more for the pleasurable effects which never come, leading to hospitalisations and deaths. Sometimes mis-sold as MDMA.
Harm potential
PMA can cause serious side effects even at moderate doses, such as hyperthermia and serotonin syndrome, which can easily result in death or hospitalization. As a result, it is strongly discouraged to use this substance.

Effects
- The onset of PMA is slower than the one of MDMA. This slow onset and the lack of dopaminergic effects can trick users into thinking they took a low-dosed MDMA pill which leads to redosing. Redosing on PMA can quickly lead to fatal overdoses.
- PMA can cause a sharp rise in blood pressure and body temperature even at low doses, causing muscle spasms, nausea and vomiting, cardiac arrhythmia, loss of consciousness, and internal bleeding, among other things. can come. This has in some cases led to organ failure and even death.
